Hear from happy clients (and babies)

“I’m a fierce believer in the power of people and their bodies.”

Exclusive Pumper

“I was a first-time mom in a pandemic trying to figure out how to get my daughter breast milk. I quickly found that nursing wasn't for me, and the pumping was a lot harder than anticipated. I couldn't find a lactation consultant that would work with me exclusively pumping. Thankfully I was introduced to Caitlin! I wouldn't be here, 4 months exclusively pumping, without her! Mastitis, Clogged Ducts, a Staph Infection, Thrush, trauma to my nipple, you name it I had it. Caitlin helped me navigate the confusing, oftentimes painful, and overwhelming experience. Caitlin was always a text message away and quick to set a time on her schedule for me. We spoke on weekends, holidays, late nights, anything to ensure I was doing well and progressing. I honestly couldn't be happier. Forever grateful to Caitlin and her expertise, and I know my daughter appreciates her hard work too!!”

Baby with Oral Ties and Parent with Damaged Nipples

“Before we found Caitlin, my husband and I spoke to 3 lactation consultants about our son's latching troubles—who said his latch ‘looked great’ and there was nothing wrong. But there was something wrong. My son could not latch without a nipple shield, and when he did, it was very painful for me. His latching was so limited that he was even having trouble drinking from a bottle. At my first consultation with Caitlin, even though it was virtual, it didn't take her long to identify that many of these symptoms were indicative of tongue and lip ties. After each consult, she sent over detailed notes, with links to helpful videos and referred us to some excellent professionals in the area to set up an appointment to get our son's ties diagnosed and released. The dentist confirmed Caitlin's suspicions—he had some very intense ties that were severely limiting his tongue's range of motion and his ability to latch while breastfeeding. However, his latch didn't fix itself overnight. It still took time and effort, but with Caitlin's help following the procedure, we were able to successfully wean him off the nipple shield and his latch (and breastfeeding) has improved tremendously. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!”

Painful Latching
& Suspected Ties

“Because of Caitlin's help, I can now say that I am breastfeeding pain-free. I went through 3 weeks of toe-curling pain—after which I reached out to Caitlin and explained the source of my pain, my other worries about maintaining supply, and a picture of what we thought was a lip-tie. Even before our first meeting she emailed with initial recommendations and references for a pediatric dentist. As opposed to other LCs who focused exclusively on the baby, Caitlin framed our conversations around both my care and that of my baby. She is incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, and a great educator. The cost for each session was more than reasonable. I cannot thank Caitlin enough for getting me to a place where pumping and breastfeeding are no longer a source of anxiety.”

Baby Unable to Latch Upon Hospital Discharge

“Logan had a lot of trouble with breastfeeding from the very beginning. When we were at the hospital, we spent time with the lactation consultants that were available to us, but we never had any success with Logan properly latching. When we left the hospital, we felt overwhelmed and didn’t feel confident that Logan would be able to breastfeed—especially with no one around to help us. My husband decided to look into hiring a lactation consultant per the suggestion of our pediatrician and that’s when we found Caitlin! We desperately reached out to Caitlin on a Saturday morning and she dropped everything she was doing to come to our apartment that same afternoon (she could tell we were in a really dark place at the time). We ended up meeting with Caitlin several times until we eventually got to a good place with breastfeeding! We are so grateful for her and proud to report Logan is already 3 months old, 13 pounds, and successfully breastfeeding - without a shield! We would highly recommend Caitlin to any new mom!!”

Baby with Slow Weight Gain and Concerned Medical Providers

“Caitlin saved my sanity. I’m not sure what I would have done if I had not been referred to her. My only regret is that I did not know about her sooner. Having a child during the pandemic was a challenge—and I would like to think [my original] lactation consultant would’ve spent some real time with me in the hospital if it was a ‘normal’ year. Instead, they asked if my baby had difficulty latching. When the answer was no—I didn’t see her again. My son was born average size but was having difficulty gaining weight after we left the hospital. We first went with a doctor’s recommendation followed by a nutritionist. Everyone seemed quite concerned- while my happy baby continued to gain weight (apparently just not fast enough) and reach milestones.

Caitlin immediately put me at ease. My son looked just fine. She gave me exercises to do with the baby, gave tips, offered advice, and ultimately got me to a place where I was able to supplement him with just my breastmilk and not formula (which was ideal). Caitlin went above and beyond to help. Not only did she help immensely with the breastfeeding—I now feel comfortable following my instincts in general with what’s best for my baby.”

Twins Struggling with Latching and Low Supply

“When I met Caitlin, I was at a difficult point in my breastfeeding journey. I was struggling with low milk supply, latching issues, and significant and persistent breast and nipple pain. I had previously worked with 3 different IBCLCs (in person), but none had been able to help me make meaningful progress. As much as I wanted to continue breastfeeding, I was very demoralized and questioning whether I could continue.

Caitlin sought to understand my goals, listened to my concerns and set backs, and provided me with hope. Of all the consultants I worked with, Caitlin demonstrated the greatest knowledge and competence. After our initial consult, and each subsequent session, she provided me with a detailed, written summary and action plan. She was quickly able to assess lip and tongue tie issues and encouraged me to get my twins assessed by a pediatric dentist or ENT, which I did. She showed me different breastfeeding positions and helped me find the ones that worked best for me. While breastfeeding sessions had previously been an incredibly stressful experience, with Caitlin’s guidance, they became not only successful, but relaxing. My breast and nipple pain significantly improved, and my milk supply increased to the point that I could support both twins.

I feel very fortunate to have met Caitlin.  Without her support and guidance I likely would have failed to achieve my goals and would have been forced to supplement with formula.

What is all the more impressive is that Caitlin was able to achieve all of this over the course of only a few virtual visits.

I would highly recommend Caitlin to any mother struggling with breastfeeding, including those who have worked with other consultants and who have failed to see results. Caitlin can undoubtedly help!”
